Dr. Aaron Altschul grew up in Indiana and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Desiring a profession which would help people more directly, he then went on to follow in his father's footsteps to become a Dentist and then an Orthodontist. He graduated with honors in 2002 from Indiana University School of Dentistry. In 2004 Dr. Altschul completed his specialty training at the orthodontic residency of Indiana University and also received his Master of Science in Dentistry. His degree in Mechanical Engineering provides a complementary adjunct to his orthodontic training and knowledge. Dedicated to excellence in care with an emphasis on continuing education, Dr. Altschul regularly attends dental seminars on important and changing areas of orthodontics. He is an active member in the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Indiana Dental Association, and other state and local dental societies. Dr. Altschul was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. Dr. Altschul is married with three children, and he cherishes his time with his family. He also enjoys teaching and performing swing dancing with his wife, traveling, and trying new and interesting foods. Dr. Jean Santa Maria grew up in Michigan, and graduated from Earlham College with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. She worked in medical research for five years, but returned to school at the urging of friends in the dental field. She attended Indiana University School of Dentistry, and graduated in 1985 as the valedictorian. While in dental school, she underwent orthodontic treatment herself, and developed an interest in orthodontics. Dr. Santa Maria completed her specialty training at the orthodontic residency of Indiana University in 1987. She has been practicing in Crawfordsville since 1987. Dr. Santa Maria is an active member in the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Indiana Dental Association, and other state and local dental societies. Dr. Santa Maria is married with two nearly grown children. Away from the office, she enjoys hiking, playing card games, going to the beach, and hanging out with her family |
